Chef Brian Helps Taher introduce New Made-from-Scratch Items!

Taher Inc., who manages your Food Service Program, has a local Foodservice Team of Professionals who work to provide The Oconomowoc Area School District with its meal program.  In 2008, Chef Brian Shoemake, formerly Executive Chef of Pewaukee restaurant Piano Blu, joined the local Taher team and assists with creating new selections and training staff to prepare some of the new made-from-scratch items on the menu.  Brian is excited to help this fall with implementing new homemade recipes inspired by Taher's Chef Council specifically for use in K-12 schools.

Examples Include

Carne Italiano Stromboli - and Italian delight freshly baked golden brown with Pepperoni and Sliced Ham, layered in pizza dough and served with marinara sauce.

Chicken Divan - Freshly Baked Diced Chicken, Broccoli, Cheddar Cheese, Cream of Chicken Soup and Bread Crumbs make this a warm and yummy dish served with a side of whole grain pasta.

Homemade Meat Loaf - Ground beef, celery, yellow onion, eggs, bread crumbs, salt and pepper freshly made in your school cafeteria and served with beef gravy - just like grandma used to make!

Eggs Benedict - Egg Patty and Sliced Ham served open-faced with a light hollandaise sauce.

Tex Mex Pork - Tender and Mildly Spiced Pulled Pork served over Rice with Corn and Bean Salsa

Lasagna Primavera - A Vegetarian Delight with Broccoli, Cauliflower, Carrots, Garbanzo Beans, and a Light Garlic Alfredo Sauce - Your students will never know there are so many good things in this!

Currently, Brian serves a special menu for students and staff to enjoy at Oconomowoc High school.  He also makes monthly trips to both Intermediate schools.  This fall he will assist with introducing many of these new items to students around the school district!

Go to the school district website at oasd.k12.wi.us.

At the top of the page, find us under "Family Resources" - "Lunch"

Click "Oconomowoc Area School District Food Service Website"

E~funds for schools is a third party website separate from the school district and lunch program. You will now access e~funds using your FAMILY ACCESS Codes available from the school district. Click here for more information on FAMILY ACCESS.

Click on the "Payments" Page and the new "Family Access" link. You will no longer be able to set up reoccurring payments if you have in previous years.

If you have not registered to make payments online in previous years, you will need to register to make online payments through "E~funds for Schools". Follow their 4 step instructions to register to use this site to make lunch payments.

During the registration process, select payment from checking, savings or credit card. If you decide to make deposits from your checking account (using a routing number) they will be made free of charge. If you use a credit or debit card, you will be charged 1.99% of the amount of the transaction as a fee.  This fee is charged by e~funds for schools, not the district or the lunch program.

If you have questions, call us at 560-2146 or email brenda.klamert@oasd.k12.wi.us.

CHANGES IN LUNCH SOFTWARE AND LUNCH ACCOUNT ACCESS

In Fall 2010 we are implementing a new software that makes lunch account information available with the rest of the school information through FAMILY ACCESS. You will no longer need to have a separate Family ID number and password for your lunch account.
